Happy First of September!

It was the kind of week that called for a massage...wait a second, that's every week.

Our past few days have been filled with being productive and enjoying our time together. As you saw, Zach started school this week. He is now a full time student and is already loaded with homework. As much of homework and time he will be putting into all of this, he really loves it. His favorite class is probably racquetball. That would be anyone's really. I'm just glad he has something to have fun with while studying so hard for the other courses. We both are working very hard now, and all for what's to come in our future. We are happy, we are busy, we are always tired.

This is a picture of Zach during his first racquetball class. Yes he did draw it for me.

I asked what happened to his hand, so he then sent me this one...hahaha. Sorry we are so lame.

It's the simple/stupid things that make me laugh and love my husband even more.

One of the best things about getting home from work, besides seeing my husband, is having a homemade dinner prepared by my bro-in-law. Hector is a fantastic cook. He BBQ's for us, prepares hours ahead, has the crock pot going, even considers the gluten free and veggie in the house. What a hard task. But he offers to do it and does it out of the pure love of cooking, so we go with it. It has been nothing but enjoyment to the taste buds. We are all trying to make healthy choices together, and having a personal chef is a plus.

On Wednesday my surprise was delivered and left at the door for when Zach got home. I was SO excited when I got the picture of it and could not wait to get home and open it! You could guess what my thoughtful husband got me but I'll just tell you. He got me my first professional camera! It's a beauty! I love it and have been studying up on it for the last few days. I can't wait to put it to use some more and further my learning and experience. It makes me motivated and ready to get out there and finally do something I enjoy. Thank you Zach! Also on Wednesday after work, our niece Savvy came over to hangout for a few hours. She is adorable. But you already know that. We went for a walk, she chased butterflies and picked our neighbors leaves off their trees. She always makes us enjoy the simple things. We played with her all night and settled down with some books and Tinkerbell on Netflix. It's easy to have your day turned around for the better when you have such a sweet and kind person around you. Until next time, we will be missing her.

I spy little Savannah! This is the best toy ever! She went to her uncle Zach asking for the "Game! game! game!" When he got it out of the closet for her she was so happy saying, "YAY! GAME!" while jumping up and down.

On Friday, my two and a half day weekend started. I say that because I worked for nine hours yesterday at the burger joint. After work though Zach and I treated ourselves to something else we have been saving up for. We are trying to finish up our house decorating and also buy some toys that we will use. So we binged and bought our first TV. He was more excited then I was, he knew what he wanted and we had a budget. So now we are actually sitting in our living room, because we have a reason to, and watching even more Netflix and Hulu then before. It's really quite fun! So what, we are American.

happy boy I tell ya.
Getting our new toy setup. We haven't left the sofa since.
Just messin.

Last night after my long shift of pure enjoyment, I really did get a massage. Lauren let me use one of  hers from her Massage Envy and signed me up. I really needed to relax and distress, and still do, but it was the best. I grew up getting massages and being spoiled. I'd walk into my TV room and ask my mom to help me out. My mom is a massage therapist, and definitely was meant to do that. She is amazing at what she does. Now that I don't have that option I have to trust that a stranger can take care of my needs. It is always awkward when you go to get a massage. Think about it, it just is. Although when I push that aside it really doesn't matter in the end. When you need the luxury, you do it. Sarah Ann was quite interesting. When the massage started she didn't bother putting any music on, so I just listened to her breathing and clearing her throat for a good ten minutes. It took that time before I heard the tribal music start playing. I don't know what was up with that, but I was more comfortable at that point. I miss being around my mom for many reasons, but that one is high up on the list during these straining days. I'm just glad Sarah Ann didn't suck at her job and that I was able to sleep well last night.

Go get a massage, call my mom she is the bomb.

After the massage I drove to Buffalo Wild Wings to meet Lauren, Hector, and Zach to watch the fight. UFC was on last night and the guys were there for two hours saving our table. It was a fun night! Loved the atmosphere and loved watching Pettis get the belt. Some of those men were just plain nasty and looked like they were about to eat their opponent, but it was an eventful night watching people beat each other up. It makes me want to get back into boxing/kick boxing. I miss it, so I plan to make time for it again. That will definitely help with my stress from work. Anyways, it was a long night, but fun. We ended it by going to Winco at 11pm for our monthly shopping, but what better time to do it?

Today was the usual, but still my favorite day of the week. Spending quality time with my husband and making our traditional homemade pizza for dinner. This week we are making better choices and made portobello mushroom pizzas instead. They were delicious. Probably not everyone's forte, but we don't mind the fungus choice. And for dessert we are trying something new and healthy with that as well. YUM.

I do hope that everyone is doing well and enjoying their holiday weekend. Not sure what we have planned for tomorrow, but I'm just happy to have the day off. Thank goodness for that.
