Catching up...
Monday was our goodbye party. We had family, neighbors, and friends stop by my parents house for some BBQ and good company. It was so nice to see everyone before we headed out. We will miss everyone for the time being, and we love everyone that has supported us in our journeys.
Dinner was held in the backyard, the place where my family has always gathered. I love my home and the people that fill it. My dad was on the grill, while Zach got the ice, Mom was getting the kitchen goodies prepped, I was on drink duty, and Lauren was setting up. We are a good team.
Rod and Darlene (my second grandparents who live two doors down) made us delicious baked beans. Rod delivered them to us by wagon. I looked out the window and saw him pulling an old red metal wagon with the crock pot inside of it. It was a sweet sight. I have to say, they have been the best neighbors growing up, always treating us so well.
Family showed up with all the kiddos running around, and old family friends came as well. It was fun to see Hector playing with his nieces and nephews that love him so much. And Lauren with her friends from years ago that are now raising their own families. What time does to us can be really wonderful.
From there on out we enjoyed our time. Seeing my favorite people and eating good food.
Thank you mom and dad once again for letting us party at your place!
