This guy is 23

Hip hip hooray! Happy Birthday to my wonderful husband! He turned the big ol' 23 today! I love the man so much and wish him the happiest birthday and a great year to come. I'm not sure how I got so lucky to have him as mine, but I'll take it. In celebration of his birthday, he went to school and I worked. But of course there was more..but nothing too crazy. When I got home he was sleeping, so I stuck two candles in the two cupcakes I got for him from The Sweet Tooth Fairy, then woke him up by singing happy birthday to him. We enjoyed the carrot cake cupcake and Nutella crepe cupcake with some strawberry milk. I'm telling you, we are pretty chill when it comes to these things. As long as I get to celebrate many more birthdays with this guy, then it's fine by me!

Later tonight we are going out to eat with Lauren and Hector, their treat! That's the best way to eat out...when someone else is paying for you.

Anyway, Happy Birthday my love! I love you so so so much!

April.

Another finals week has graced us with it's presence. I'm not the one taking the finals, but I do feel the stress Zach has when preparing and taking them. Let's here it for another semester coming to an end! This month has been wild. We did a turn around trip to California last week. Turn around trips are exhausting. We left on wednesday night a little after midnight, and headed towards Saint George. I drove after my 12 hour shift...at 5am we were in bed. Being back at the burger joint I work 12 and 13 hour shifts...fun stuff. Adding the day we left and the day just before, I worked over 24 hours. Craaay cray. But I'm still young.

On thursday I gave my parents a big hug. It felt so good to be home! I have to give a shout out to my mom who has lost over 20 pounds and looks amazing! She has literally worked her butt off, and it has paid off. I am so proud of her! Nothing beats being home with family. We went out to eat and got to catch up on all the things we've been up to. Lots of stuff happening in the family. GOOD things. I spent all of friday with my mom and dad. We went out to lunch and I took some pictures of the them. I just love my parents, they are so happy and full of love.

While I was with my mom and dad, Zach partied it up with some friends for a bachelor party. Our best friends wedding was the main reason we went to California..Saturday we got to attend Kyle and Liahona's temple sealing. Our best friends were married in the Los Angeles temple, where Zach and I were married, and they looked so happy and beautiful! We loved spending their special day with them. After the wedding we headed back to Rancho for some more party time. Receptions are so much fun! They put together a beautiful reception with delicious food and yummy desserts. We had such a great night dancing and celebrating with the Braby's! We are so lucky to have such great friends in our lives.

Recently we have welcomed Spring to the neighborhood. It's about time! I almost shed a tear when I saw blossoms on our trees out front...could it really be true?! Well it is, and now outside our window it is so green and fresh. I love Springtime! 

 For my birthday weekend Zach and I headed to See's for our one pound from Grandma and Grandpa. Then we went out to see Robocop at the dollar theater. After the movie we ate at The Pie, a pizza joint in town, it's pretty tasty. On my actual Birthday we went to church, I baked cupcakes, took a long nap, and Zach made me dinner. We ended our night playing a board game that I get way to competitive at and called it a night. It was the perfect day really. I got to hear from my loved ones and was wished a happy day. Life is wonderful. 

This month still has lots more to come! Wednesday is my love's birthday! Then saturday will bring us to our one year anniversary! It's a month full of celebration in the Walton home. Happy Monday! This is what we've been up to...

What's been going on?

Farewell to my job at Marriott, and hello to another adventure. A little over a week ago I had my last day on the phones. Of course I had a plan before I picked up and left. As of right now though the most important thing is that I am happy and stress free. Now I can begin something new. I have had some days to myself and my husband and I couldn't be more relaxed. Hang on, that's a lie...I skyped with my parents recently who were both sitting on a Hawaiian island soaking up the sun, and I was wrapped up in a blanket with sweats on head to toe. So I COULD be more relaxed, but you know what I mean.

I'm looking forward to going back to school, hopefully in fall, and as of now I am back with my Five Guys family in American Fork. It's pretty wonderful. The burger joint kinda makes my mind more sane...except for the fry sauce, I hate fry sauce. Anyway, thank goodness for an awesome boss who lets me continue to strive in other goals then just five guys.

Last week Zach and I had a day off together, which is always nice and pretty rare. We played video games, watched The Following, and ate lots of yogurt. Have I mentioned that I married the best man ever? On our day off I really wanted to get out and do something other then be home. The fresh air and walking around seemed so nice. I also wasn't feeling well and needed to rest a bit. Me still insisting to go out, Zach looked high and low for something that wouldn't cost us a fortune, we weren't successful. He ended up telling me that he doesn't care what we do as long as we can spend time together. So pajamas and video games it was, and it was such a fun day for our very simple life.

Last wednesday I had another day off, and this time I was left at home all by myself. Zach went out with some old mission friends after school, and I...well I just hung out and baked cookies, then ate all of them later in the night. Around 4pm I got a phone call from my husband, who's phone has not been working so I hadn't heard from him almost all day. He called me to tell me that he had been pulled over by the police because when my license plate was looked up it said my car was not registered. Which it is. (or so I thought) Oh and I must mention that Zach was using my car because Ruby, his little red car, was not working...the usual. So the first time he takes my car in a very long time he gets his plates checked and pulled over, go figure!! Well basically the cop needed proof of insurance. I had my information and was ready to give it to him...he needed to call me back. So when Zach called me back he said that my car was being impounded because my registration was revoked. It was revoked because I never went to the DMV to show my insurance. Didn't know I had to do that, obviously. So at that moment we were carless... Since we have moved to Utah I have gotten my first ticket and my car has been impounded. The police man brought Zach home and we had ten minutes before the DMV closed to prove my insurance. Zach sat in his car for almost five minutes trying to get it started and once it was up and running we hurried over to the DMV. $100 later the lady printed a piece of paper and let us on our way. We get to the impound yard and my poor car was just dropped off, and almost $200 later I got to take it home with me. ALL of that just to prove the paperwork I DID have. What a day to give Utah all my money.

On a brighter note, over the weekend we have had my aunt, uncle, and cutest little cousin here for a visit. It was so nice to have them stay with us. Even if it rained a little and the clouds never left. We visited memorial park and went to an aquarium that just opened in Draper. It was all a good time and also busy.

April is a wonderful month. The flowers are coming back, finally, my birthday is this month (on Easter), Zach's birthday is three days later, and our one year anniversary is three days after that! We are thrilled for the month of april and love to celebrate these wonderful days. My only wish is for sunshine. Please Utah, stop snowing randomly and being freaking cold. It makes me sad and makes me eat all my baked goods. Heres to yet another cold day in Utah!

California

We are back from our week vacation to the sunny state. It was the best vacation we've had in a long long long time. Being back in Utah isn't the happiest place on earth right now, especially when it snowed last week. Snow in March? Seriously?

Our California dreamin' adventure started with visiting the family, where we celebrated a few birthdays. Zach and I got to meet our new cousin Joshua who came into the family last November. He is adorable, and the happiest little boy you'll ever meet. We just love him and his smile. After we were with the family and playing with the baby we headed out to Anaheim for a few days at Disneyland. It was our first time going together and it was wonderful, or magical, as Walt would say. We stayed at a hotel near by, so everyday we'd walk to the park in the 70 degree blissful weather. On day one we hit Disneyland all day long. It was busy, but it was so worth it. Zach got his corn dog and I got some dole whip (pineapple ice cream). We waited in many lines, of course, and we watched the parade. Later in the evening we stayed for the fireworks and saw Fantasmic, while eating a bread bowl filled with gumbo, we were pretty satisfied. To end day one we had a Gibson Girl ice cream and walked the scary streets of Anaheim back to our hotel.

Day two we were at California Adventure. I just love that place. They've changed the park a lot since last we've both visited, but it was so neat to see everything new and exciting. We of course did the tower of terror, twice, and saw the Aladdin show. Grabbing an ice cream for a little break, and then riding more rides. The weather the whole trip was just perfect, I can't remember the last time I wore shorts and a t-shirt. In the evening we stayed for the late show of World of Colors, such an awesome show! We loved day two, and headed back for day three. Except we were pretty exhausted day three and only lasted a few hours before grabbing a treat and heading out of Anaheim and to my parents house.

Home is what I miss most. We planned to stay with my parents before we had the wedding events for my brother-in-law on thursday and friday. We relaxed all wednesday and enjoyed their company. On thursday we got dressed up for the wedding in San Diego. The drive went by quick with the company of Zach's cousin and his wife. We arrived at the beautiful San Diego temple where we were able to see Christian and Mary get married for time and all eternity. What a wonderful day for those two love birds. We were, and are, so so happy for the both of them. So many went to support them and congratulate them, they are one lucky couple. Mary was a gorgeous bride and Christian was so spiffy in his tux. The two were all smiles from then on out.

We stayed for pictures and then headed back towards Rancho, after the three and a half hour drive. Yikes. We filled our bellies with some Tios once we were back, and we hung out with the Walton's for a bit longer, mostly watching my adorable niece dance and sing..it doesn't get much better then that. After the very long and exhausting day we left to stay at the Lacayo Inn, and kicked it for the night.

Friday brought the partying. Mary and Christian had their reception the day after their wedding. So we got dolled up and headed out for a good time. The venue was beautiful, Mary really had her dream wedding come to life. The lighting, the food, the decorations, the program...it was all amazing. What a fun night it was to celebrate the newlyweds and dance the night away. It's a wedding to remember!

The week wore us out and then some. Saturday before the drive home we got to see my cousin Joshua again, and I got to take pictures of the three of them. I'm so happy for my aunt and uncle and their sweet little boy, they are such a happy family. Later saturday drove back to Utah, we stopped in Saint George at my in-laws for the night and the next morning drove the other half home. But seriously, what a great vacation we had. Seeing my family was the best, going to disneyland was exciting, seeing Christian and Mary married was wonderful, and everything else in-between was so worth the while. I would do it all over and over again in a heartbeat.

Happy Birthday Sis!

Growing up Lauren and I each got a necklace with a charm on it. When we put the two half circles together the whole circle linked and read Sisters. She has always been my best friend, whether we were getting along or not. Since I was three we were the same size and height, and often asked if we were twins. We would spend the night in each others rooms and tell stories until we could no longer keep our eyes open. She would hold my hand and rub my face until I fell asleep, since I was afraid of the dark. We were very young when we both started piano lessons. Lauren would play the left hand of a piece and I would play the right hand. We had one year of high school together where we both marched in the band and spent a lot of time together. She chaperoned at my high school grad night and I cheered her on at her marathons. We were each others maids of honor and will always be each others best friends. She has always been there for me, and we have experienced much together. Lauren is the true definition of a big sister, or big little sister. Now we are living under the same roof again and enjoying our lives in Utah. I love you so much sis! Thank you for all you do for me. Happy 26th birthday!
